- Oversee and develop workplace organisation
- Develop and implement methods to identify issues in the workplace
- Establish consultative and communication processes
- Develop key campaign messages
- Ensure recruitment of workers is undertaken and members are moved towards activism
- Inoculate members to possible employer strategies and propose union responses
- Coordinate, plan and commence workplace activities
- Undertake negotiations and take action
- Reach and evaluate outcomes
- Finalise agreed outcomes of negotiations and document agreement
- Seek approval of endorsement process with members on final agreement
- Ensure agreement is lodged and ballots are conducted appropriately by the employer
- Review outcomes against initial plan with members
- Establish a plan for implementation of the agreement
